About Kayti

First of all, I want to recognize the courage it takes to consider therapy as a potential support for your transition to parenthood. I’m a big believer that taking really good care of others (including our littles!) starts with taking really good care of ourselves. Tending to your mental health is a huge gift you can offer yourself and your family during this season.  I also want to acknowledge that choosing a therapist is a very personal decision. There are so many wonderful, caring, skilled therapists out there. However, if you don't feel a connection with them, they aren't "the one" for you. That's okay! Here I’ll share a bit about my work to give you a sense of whether you’d like to connect for a virtual consultation.

In my Salinas-based virtual practice, I help new parents throughout California to develop practical strategies to navigate pregnancy, the postpartum year, and work after baby. I’m passionate about this work partly because of my own experience during that first season of parenthood — one that was exciting and scary and vulnerable and intense and transformative. Meeting with an online therapist gave me the support I needed to be well and show up for myself, for my family, and for things that mattered most to me. My hope is to help you do the same.

In our work together, we'll collaborate with the expertise we each bring to the table. As your therapist, I'll bring perspective, education, and effective treatment approaches gained through my clinical practice and advanced training in perinatal mental health. I'll invite you to bring the wisdom of your own lived experience. I trust that you are the expert of your life and will know what's best for your family.  I don’t pretend to have all of the answers. Instead, my intention is to offer a safe space for you to process, imagine, and create your own way.

The Heart of My Approach

Showing Up to the Present Moment

Mindfulness

Mindfulness involves noticing, naming, and holding space for your honest experience in the present moment. By nurturing a healthy relationship with your strong emotions, physical sensations, and thoughts, you can spend less time fighting against them and spend more time focused on what truly matters to you. Mindfulness doesn’t have to mean sitting quietly and meditating. If you’re into that, AWESOME. If not, ALSO AWESOME. I’ll help you figure out strategies that work for you.

Exploring What Matters Most to You

values

Imagine a moment where we could quiet all of the expectations, the “shoulds,” and the well-meaning (and often conflicting) parenting advice. What would your perfect day look like? How would you spend your time? What would you prioritize? What might you let go of? What choices would you make for yourself and your family? What matters most to you right now, and what doesn’t matter at all? These are some of the questions we’ll consider as we define your personal values, giving you a strong foundation to make important life decisions with clarity and confidence.

Taking Gentle Steps Forward

ACTION

Progress isn’t only based on what we talk about in therapy — it’s based on the changes you make in your actual life. In each session, we’ll discuss practical strategies to translate your new insights into concrete actions that help you design a life you love. The next time we meet, we’ll talk about what worked, what didn’t, and what you might want to try next. While I’ll have ideas and suggestions, you’ll get to decide each “next step” along the way.
